1. The basic concept of fiber
Fibers are divided into filaments and staple fibers. Among natural fibers, cotton and wool are staple fibers, while silk is filament.
Synthetic fibers are also divided into filaments and staple fibers because they imitate natural fibers.
Semi-gloss refers to semi-dull, which is divided into bright, semi-gloss, and full-dull according to the amount of matting agent added to the raw materials of synthetic fibers during the preparation process.
Polyester filament semi-gloss is the most commonly used. There are also full light, such as most down jacket fabrics.
2. Fiber specifications
D is the abbreviation of Danel, which is Dan in Chinese. It is the unit of yarn thickness, mainly used to indicate the thickness of chemical fiber and natural silk. Definition: the weight in grams of 9000-meter-long fiber at a given moisture regain is DAN. The larger the D number, the thicker the yarn.
F is the abbreviation of filament, which refers to the number of spinneret holes, indicating the number of single fibers. For fibers with the same D number, the larger the yarn f, the softer it is.
For example: 50D/36f means 9000 meters of yarn weighs 50 grams and consists of 36 strands.

Polyester is an important variety of synthetic fibers and is the trade name of polyester fibers in my country. Polyester fiber is divided into two types: filament and staple fiber.
